Chengde Baotong Mining Co., Ltd. (a Huaxia Jianlong Subsidiary) was awarded the Second Prize of the 2024 Metallurgical Mining Science and Technology Award
On December 31st, the Metallurgical Mines’ Association of China announced the winning projects of the 2024 Metallurgical Mining Science and Technology Award, and the “Key Technologies and Applications of Comprehensive Efficient Cascade Utilization of Low-grade Vanadium-Titanium Magnetite” project of Chengde Baotong Mining Co., Ltd. (a Huaxia Jianlong Subsidiary) won the second prize.
Based on the comprehensive analysis of ore genetic characteristics, the project put forward phosphorus mineral grading and quality separation flotation, breaking through the particle size limits of traditional flotation technology. It realized not only efficient recovery of low-grade apatite, but also efficient and low-cost recovery of copper, sulfur and precious metals in low-grade vanadium-titanium magnetite. Meanwhile, the proposal of magnetic reverse tailing removal before copper and phosphorus flotation promoted the formation of the technical idea of “phase dissociation and tailing removal, coarse particle sorting in the main process, and reasonable control of element direction” for low-grade vanadium and titanium magnetite.
It is understood that the technical achievement has effectively improved the technical level of comprehensive utilization of low-grade ore and its associated resources in China, demonstrating the development of a resource-saving and environment-friendly society in China.
