Technology Empowers Safety, Intelligence Safeguards Development | Huaxia Jianlong’s Baotong Mining Builds a "Smart Defense Line" for Mines

To embrace digital intelligence trends and expand mining application scenarios, Huaxia Jianlong has designated Baotong Mining as a pilot site in 2024, investing dedicated funds to advance AI-powered system development. By integrating 3D modeling, BeiDou positioning, and intelligent algorithms, the AI system has been deeply embedded into mining operations, establishing a multi-layered safety framework driven by "human + technical + intelligent defense." This system enables risk classification, real-time monitoring, and early warnings, making safety management more transparent and efficient.

**AI Empowers Safety: Precision Targeting of Risks**

To date, Baotong Mining has built a comprehensive sensing network, completing 3D modeling of its 300,000-square-meter facility and deploying 2,160 AI cameras and 827 BeiDou positioning terminals. This ensures seamless indoor/outdoor monitoring and real-time personnel tracking. By dividing the site into red, yellow, and green zones via a "four-color map," the system applies tailored controls, Red zones use thermal imaging and high-precision positioning for strict access limits,  Yellow zones  dynamically adjust electronic fence thresholds based on risk levels,  Green zones standardize daily operations.  This precision strategy has intercepted 276 boundary violations, reduced accident risks in high-risk areas by 97%, and prevented potential economic losses exceeding RMB 2 million. Safety helmet compliance rates improved by 96.15%, saving annual labor costs of approximately RMB 1.2 million. Additionally, one early-stage fire was detected and resolved, averting a major disaster.

**Technology on the Frontlines: Intelligent Oversight Achieves Full Coverage**

In core workshops like crushing and grinding, Baotong Mining’s AI system enables "second-level response and precise intervention" through thermal imaging cameras and personnel positioning terminals. For instance, in red zones, the AI detects abnormal human movement via thermal imaging, triggers an intrusion alarm within 3 seconds, activates on-site broadcasts to halt operations, and ensures safety personnel arrive within 5 minutes to address violations—eliminating loopholes caused by negligence.

In March 2025, Chengde Emergency Management Bureau organized a visit for 42 mining companies to observe Baotong Mining’s practices. The Intelligent Command Center showcased real-time data dashboards, demonstrating the AI system’s ability to instantly identify personnel violations, equipment anomalies, and environmental risks. Live demonstrations of core functions, including AI warnings and equipment monitoring, earned high praise. Attendees lauded the integrated "visual AI + personnel positioning + tiered alerts" system. A representative from a Fengning-based enterprise remarked, *“AI’s ‘all-seeing eyes’ leave no room for violations, offering fresh ideas for industry-wide safety upgrades.”

Technology Empowers Safety, Intelligence Safeguards Development. Moving forward, Huaxia Jianlong will continue leveraging technology to enhance safety in production. By scaling Baotong Mining’s pilot innovations, the company aims to deepen AI integration into standardized workflows across subsidiaries, injecting robust momentum into building "safe mines" and "smart mines."
