Luanping Pumped Storage Power Station Project was Initiated

On the morning of December 8, 2022, the commencement ceremony of the Pumped Storage Power Station Project in Hebei was held in Luanping County. Wang Yajun, Mayor of Chengde City, Lu Jian, Executive Vice Mayor of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, Ma Xuemin, County Chief of Luanping County, He Yuanwu, Director of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and other government leaders, as well as Chen Haibin, General Manager of Beijing Dadi Yuantong Group, Xie Shuqian, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Beijing Huaxia Jianlong Mining Technology Co., Ltd., Zhao Wei, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Executive Director of China Huadian Corporation Hebei Branch, and other project leaders attended the ceremony.
Ma Xuemin, County Chief of Luanping County, presided over the ceremony, introduced the leaders and guests present situation and the progress of the project, read out the congratulatory letter from the Provincial Energy Bureau to Luanping County. He Yuanwu, Director of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, introduced the pumped storage power station industry in the city. Lu Jian, Executive Vice Mayor of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, made an important speech, and Wang Yajun, Mayor of Chengde, announced the official commencement of the project.
Chen Haibin, General Manager of Beijing Dadi Yuantong Group, introduced the background and construction plan of pumped storage power station at the commencement ceremony.
Luanping Pumped Storage Power Station is the first pumped storage power station built by using mines in China. Located in Luanping County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, with a total investment of RMB 8.237 billion, the installed capacity of the power station is 1,200 MW. Four single-stage reversible pump turbines with mixed flow and a single unit capacity of 300 MW are installed. The continuous full power generation reaches 15 hours. It is a first-class large-scale (1) project. After completion, it will become a regulator, stabilizer and balancer for green power to enter Beijing. It will also accelerate the upgrading and transformation of Luanping's industry, achieving green and high-quality development.
Since the journey remains long and arduous, what we could do is to work hard. In the future, we will accelerate project construction, strive to become a benchmark enterprise with reasonable technology and excellent economic indicators, integrate ecological restoration and comprehensive recycling of mining resources, and contribute to China's "strategy of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality". The project of Hebei Luanping Pumped Storage Power Station will develop with spirit and sail with feelings, so as to write a new story of "two mountains" and enable a new chapter of "zero carbon emissions".
