Copper Dressing Process Renovation at Baotong Mining, Subsidiary of Huaxia Jianlong, Generates Annual Benefits Exceeding RMB 40 Million
Recently, Baotong Mining, a subsidiary under Huaxia Jianlong, targeted the goals of raising concentrate grade, reducing tailings and expanding throughput, and rolled out five major technical renovation projects for its copper beneficiation process. By tapping the potential of the existing production system and avoiding the addition of large main equipment, the projects ensured continuous operation to the maximum extent and delivered an overall annual benefit of over RMB 40.13 million. Technological innovation has driven quality improvement and output growth in copper processing.
Faced with operational challenges including fine dissemination size of run‑of‑mine ore, poor reagent separation performance in winter and limited system processing capacity, the technical team of Baotong Mining carried out focused research and tackled the bottlenecks, achieving remarkable improvements in multiple core production indicators. After renovation, the annual output of crude copper powder increased by 69,300 tons (equivalent to 138.6 tons of copper metal), and phosphorus concentrate by 23,100 tons. The grade of copper concentrate rose from 8.5% to above 11%, the copper content in sulfur concentrate dropped significantly, and the comprehensive recovery rate of mineral resources increased substantially.
The five renovation initiatives adopted a multi‑pronged approach to unlock efficiency gains, including process restructuring, reuse of idle equipment, new process testing, reagent optimization and system capacity expansion. Notably, the tailings scavenging renovation was completed in only seven days without shutting down the whole production line. Prioritizing pilot testing and on‑site data for solution validation, the project revitalized existing assets and pioneered a non‑stop construction mode. This cut renovation duration and minimized disruption to regular production, forming replicable and promotable experience for mine technical upgrades.
Going forward, Huaxia Jianlong will continue to invest in beneficiation technology research. It will actively explore fields such as fine‑grained mineral recovery and precision mineral processing, continuously optimize the whole beneficiation workflow, fully tap the value of mineral resources and unleash further efficiency potential from existing mine systems.
