Unity of Knowledge and Action · Team‑Leadership Study Camp of Huaxia Jianlong Held at Chengde Baotong Mining

From September 17 to 18, the first‑phase Unity of Knowledge and Action · Team‑Leadership Study Camp of Huaxia Jianlong was held at Chengde Baotong Mining Co., Ltd. Twenty‑eight workshop directors and team backbones from nine subsidiaries of Huaxia Jianlong gathered for the event. Combining classroom‑based training with the TnPM Tool Innovation Contest, the study camp put learning outcomes to practical test and advanced team management from conceptual understanding toward on‑site implementation.

The study camp invited Zhao Yang, Partner, Consulting Director and Senior Trainer of 89 Consulting Company as the lecturer. On the first day of the camp, Mr. Zhao delivered systematic lectures covering craftsman talent cultivation for team building in the new era, on‑site promotion of workshop‑level teams, development of distinctive team models, and application of AI tools in workshop and team management. He put AI, this “new key”, into the hands of front‑line managers. Participants brought real‑world challenges from their respective workshops, untangled puzzles and exchanged ideas through interactive sessions ranging from data statistics and safety reminders to competency‑building training.

Upon completion of the one‑and‑a‑half‑day training session, outstanding individuals and teams were recognized for their performance throughout the camp: Outstanding Trainee Award: Yan Feiyu, Zhao Mingyang, Wang Yongchang, Wang Cungang Best Team Award: Tackling Team (An Shujun, Yan Feiyu, Du Ruichun, Li Pengfei, Liu Tianyu, Zhang Yuhang, Yang Erdong) Best Organization Award: Chengde Baotong Mining Co., Ltd.

On the afternoon of September 18, the TnPM “Tool Innovation · Efficiency Upgrade” Equipment Maintenance Tool Development Contest kicked off as scheduled. The contest collected front‑line improvement achievements from all subsidiaries of Huaxia Jianlong. Following preliminary evaluation by the jury panel, 9 entries stood out from 227 submissions and advanced to the final round for on‑site competition. Many innovations addressed long‑standing operational pain points. These modest yet practical tool innovations eased the workload of front‑line staff, safeguarded operation safety, and realized stable production with reduced costs. They vividly illustrated the improvement philosophy of two‑way mutual benefit: employee well‑being alongside enterprise value creation.

Solving a material‑blockage issue, redesigning a wrench, or upgrading an overhaul platform — behind every tool lay repeated observation, deliberation and trial‑and‑error by respective teams day in and day out. Judges raised on‑site questions and offered item‑by‑item comments. The final contest results are as follows:

First Prize: Multi‑purpose Maintenance Trolley, by Yan Jiancun, Baotong Mining Second Prize: Fastening Device for Overhead‑Line Bolts, by Sun Geng, Baotong Mining; Jack Base Bracket for Idler Roller Replacement, by Liu Yanlong, Luanping Jianlong Third Prize: Rail Reset Tool, by Hu Zhenfeng, Kuancheng Jianlong; Circular‑Grinding Maintenance Platform, by Han Shaofeng, Baotong Mining; Polyethylene Pipe Crimping Tool, by Zhao Aihong, Zhurihe Copper Industry.

Bridging classroom learning and contest‑driven practice, this study camp promoted learning through training and application through competition. It embedded team‑building requirements into production sites, individual posts and hands‑on tool improvement work, enabling the improvement guideline of “employee well‑being and enterprise value creation” to take firm root. Applause goes to every down‑to‑earth front‑line practitioner rooted in mine sites who keeps pursuing innovation. Improvement lies not far away but right at hand; innovation does not pursue grandeur, but real‑world effectiveness.
