Successful First Trial Run of Huaxia Jianlong Fine-grained Phosphorus Flotation Recovery Project

In 2021, Huaxia Jianlong adhered to the strategic positioning of "two major industries, three auxiliary sectors and five-in-one" strategy, and continuously advanced the comprehensive and in-depth utilization of resources. Yuan Zhanyong, Chairman and General Manager of Huaxia Jianlong, proposed that we should strengthen the depth of scientific research and development on existing resources, improve the comprehensive recycling efficiency of tailing resources, and strengthen R&D of fine-grained metal recycling technology in particular in regard to technological innovation.

Chen Haibin, Executive Vice General Manager of Huaxia Jianlong and General Manager of Baotong Mining, took the lead in leading Baotong Mining's technical transformation personnel to achieve practical results in the research project of fine-grained phosphorus flotation recovery process. On the morning of May 28, the first trial run of Baotong Mining's fine-grained phosphorus flotation and recovery technology renovation project succeeded. After the project is put into operation, the annual output of phosphorus concentrate will increase by 35,000 tons, and the annual sales revenue will increase by more than RMB18 million. The successful implementation of this project has pioneered fine-grained flotation process technology in the company, which can be applied to other mineral beneficiation, further improving the company's mineral resource utilization rate and product value.

      

The 800m2 inclined plate thickener in the phosphorus selection workshop of Baotong Mining has high overflow concentration, similar grade to the flotation feeds, high pulp flow rate, high mud content, and ultra-Fine-grained size, which has to be discharged into tailing during production, resulting in the loss of some phosphorus minerals.

In order to improve the efficiency of comprehensive utilization of resources, since October 2020, Chen Haibin arranged for technical reform staff to study and solve technical difficulties of the flotation recovery of fine-grained phosphorus, and led the team on study trips to summarize technical experience. Based on the tracking and investigation of production data, the technical transformation personnel conducted a large number of sampling experiments on the inclined plate of the phosphorus beneficiation workshop after the technical transformation and maintenance. It was found that the overflow concentration, particle size, and particle composition have shown significant changes, which could not meet the quality requirements of the concentrate grade. Finally, they decided to conduct a separate flotation design.

The technical reform staff of the company have successively contacted university laboratories and equipment manufacturers such as swirler manufacturers to carry out graded flotation experiments. After comparing the flotation experimental data of multiple models, the flotation equipment and reagent models have been determined. Meanwhile, the process flow has been optimized and designed on the basis of the existing factory building. After nearly 5 months of repeated experiments and argumentation, the project design plan was finalized in early March 2021. On March 14, the construction began. In order to ensure the smooth progress of the project, the staff strictly followed the construction plan, orderly promoted the project construction, strengthened on-site management and safety and quality control, and overcame difficulties with excellent technology and strong will. The final project construction was completed in 2 months and 15 days, three days ahead of the original plan.

On the morning of May 28 at 8:20 am, accompanied by the "crackling" firecrackers and the festive sound of various fireworks, the fine-grained flotation recovery project of Baotong Mining's phosphorus beneficiation workshop successfully conducted a trial run with feeds. Zhou Zhenhua, Deputy General Manager of Baotong Mining, and Li Zhi, together with relevant department heads and equipment manufacturer personnel, arrived at the scene to congratulate Baotong Mining. The successful trial run of this project is an important reflection of Baotong Mining's focus on technological innovation, marking the company's new growth point of benefits and laying a solid foundation for promoting its high-quality development. Baotong Mining will take this opportunity to continue promotion of scientific research projects, such as mineral fertilizers with the support of its own resource advantages, increase investment in scientific and technological research and development, and strive to build an innovative enterprise and a model enterprise for comprehensive and in-depth utilization of domestic resources.
